Our Story

The Car Dealer Tradition

In 1931, Giacomo Salcetti came to America from Sicily looking for a better life. A mechanic all his life, Giacomo knew cars well and knew how to make them run. He soon landed work for a dealership in Detroit and worked his way quickly up to manager of the service department.

But Giacomo was restless. He knew what car buyers wanted - straight talk, attentive service and capable salespeople who knew cars. Soon he founded his own dealership right here in Anytown. He met his future bride, a secretary he hired, and they had six sons.

Giacomo and his bride died in 1971, leaving The Car Dealer to his sons, who carry on his powerful legacy today.

After seven decades of selling automobiles and trucks to customers up and down the coast, The Car Dealer still stands for excellent craftsmanship at fair prices, with service to back up the sale.

Whether in sales or service, doing the job right the first time, on time, every time has been the objective, accomplished with skilled associates, large inventories and state of the art facilities.
